ModeratorI am uploading the Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 bmp's. The Destiny 2 bmp's have already been color converted.

ModeratorHey cabalpapa, have you tried feidian yet? If you like I can send you the original d1 and d2 bmps then you can send me back your modified ones and the rom and I can load them in for you with feidian.

ModeratorNo idea but my guess is that your version of Dos and Php don't get along.
What version of DOS do you have? To find out run this at a DOS prompt:
> command /C ver
Mine is 5.00.500 (on XP)
To run an older version of DOS you could try using PC-DOS or FreeDOS.

ModeratorI think it will be good. I passed out swords and tridents to Sun Jian's guys and gave them a minor soldier boost. In the Gongsun Zan battle you're up against 2 tridents and 3 bows. In Chang Sha you'll now be up against 2 swords, a trident, and two bows.

ModeratorOK I'm gonna ramp up overall Jingzhou difficulty some so that you will be strongly discouraged from going there first :-)
MiDKnighT
ModeratorThat's a good idea re: Sun Jian…don't want to make it too hard/frustrating though…
The Chang Sha battle is already hard enough I think…That could be a key gateway. In any case, the Chang Sha battle needs to be harder than the Gongsun Zan battle.

ModeratorWow, you're a great tester. I'll go fix the text.
I knew about the Zhang Yan thing. It can happen if you take Jing Zhou first. Trying to think about what to do about that. I do want him in the Gongsun Zan battle.
It's ok if you beat Liu Bei…you just won't get him :) Or of course I could make it impossible and give him 51k enemy troops :-)

ModeratorFixed the text thingies. Thx for checking.

ModeratorThe Cao Cao portrait came from ROTK1. Here's what I did.
1. Loaded ROTK 1 in an Emulator and chose Cao Cao as the ruler.
2. Opened up his page and took a screenshot (PrntScrn).
3. Cut out his portrait in MS Paint.
4. Opened the file in Infranview. It looked like this:

5. Diffused the colors down to 4 colors like so:

6. Now have to change the colors to match DoaE1 colors:

Couldn't use white in this one because it didn't look right. So just used blue/green/black:

7. Now after saving as a bmp it looks like this:

8. Now resize to 48×48 (destiny portrait size):

9. Pasted him over Sima Yi in my 2nd destiny bmp in paint.
10. Opened the original DoaE1 pics then pieced together Sima Yi's background behind Cao Cao in MS Paint (zoomed at 800%). (I'm sure there's a faster way to do this in photoshop but I don't have photoshop right now) Also made Cao Cao's eyes white:

11. Then loaded him into the ROM with feidian!
Color test:

ModeratorYes it takes some getting used to then once you get the hang of it you can zip through portrait changes. I'm gonna post what I did for the Cao Cao portrait in a min…
MiDKnighT
ModeratorThank you sir. It took me a while to figure out the feidian stuff so sharing what I know. I really didn't want to piece each pic together with Tile Layer Pro. I would have gone postal after a few portraits.
Once you get used to the feidian method I talked about, you could theoretically swap every portrait in the game in a matter of minutes.

ModeratorQuote:Zhang Yan at first sight was holy shit, but Yi Xin basically left him with no chance at all to strike. Love how you did the Heishan Bandits. Pity Lu Bu left, but Zhang Yan joined with better stats imo, so yeah. This part was fun to do because:
#1 – Yuan Shao did historically fight with the Heishan bandits:
"Yuan Shao then turned southwest to eradicate the Heishan bandits. With the short-term help from Lü Bu, Yuan Shao managed to defeat the bandit leader Zhang Yan and removed the threat to his western flank."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuan_Shao
#2 – Zhang Yan apparently really was badazz:
"Zhang Yan, né Chu Yan (褚燕), also known as Zhang Feiyan (張飛燕), was the leader of Heishan bandits. He was a native of Zhending, Changshan commandery (modern Baoding).
"He was born Chu Yan. Because he was fast, and agile, and brave, his men called him "Feiyan", meaning "Flying Swallow"."
"In 193, Zhang Yan fought to a stalemate against Lü Bu – who at the time was serving nominally under Yuan Shao and undertook his quest to pacify various regions neighboring the Taihang Mountains."
"In 199, he responded to Gongsun Zan's request for help in the Battle of Yijing. Before he arrived, Gongsun Zan was destroyed by Yuan Shao."

But in the game he does get there in time…

ModeratorQuote:OK uh speed the emulator up and use wallhack to jump straight to the Zhang Song/Zhang Ren battle. I'm playing the newest version; Song has a pair of eyes at the bottom of his portrait.Oh now I see it…oops. Will be fixed in the next version.

ModeratorI'll add some pics to the above post later to make it easier.
